Dear Colleague,
The Thirty-Eighth Annual Meeting of the UCLA/Harbor Obstetrics and Gynecology Alumni Collegium, honoring Daniel Morton, John Gunning, and J. George Moore was a great success. I would like to extend sincere thanks to all who participated in making this such a special day. Also, thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to attend the Collegium this year.
We hope that you will be able to join us for the 39th Annual Alumni Collegium, to be held on Friday, April 24, 2009. The full speaker agenda, as well as other details regarding the Collegium will be posted as it becomes available.
Following the Scientific Session, Collegium members and invited guests will meet for cocktails and dinner, during which time graduating Obstetrics and Gynecology residents and fellows from UCLA and Harbor/UCLA will receive recognition as new members and honorary new members will be initiated.
Annual dues are $50.00. The cost for dinner is $125, which includes cocktails and annual dues. You are invited to bring your spouse, significant other, or guest, however, there will be an additional $75.00 charge per guest. In order to keep costs at a minimum, we are requesting donations to cover the cost of the graduates' dinners. All those who donate $75 will be listed as donors on the Collegium program and on our Department website.
We hope that you will join us in April 24, 2009, in honor of Dr. Morton, who was a great teacher and first Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA; Dr. John Gunning, a great teacher and former head of Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harbor; and Dr. J. George (Jerry) Moore, a great teacher and former Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA.

The UCLA/Harbor Obstetrics and Gynecology Alumni Collegium (formerly known as the Daniel Morton Society)
was founded in 1970 to honor Dr. Daniel Morton, who was the first Chair of the Department of Obstetrics
and Gynecology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. The Society was founded by former students
of Dr. Morton as a way to remember his many contributions to both the field and the Department of Obstetrics
and Gynecology at UCLA. In addition, the Society endeavored to continue Dr. Morton's scientific and clinical
legacy by hosting a session of talks on relevant topics at each of its annual meetings. Subsequently, Dr.
John Gunning, the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center and
Dr. J. George Moore, the second Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the David Geffen
School of Medicine at UCLA, were inducted as honorees to acknowledge their many contributions to the
education and training of their residents and fellows as well as for their many contributions to the field.
The Collegium meets annually for a day-long scientific session delivered by leading figures in the
field followed by a reception and dinner.
